Dr. Jitendra Patel
Jay Patel, MD has proudly served the Brookings community since 1987. He is a double board-certified physician specializing in internal medicine and geriatric medicine. He treats a broad spectrum of common and complex diseases in adolescents, adults, and the elderly.
Dr. Patel’s expertise ranges from cancer diagnostics to infections and diseases affecting the blood, heart, kidneys, joints, digestive, respiratory, nervous, and vascular systems. He always aims to incorporate his vast wealth of experience in disease prevention, wellness, substance abuse, mental health, and ear, eyes, skin, and reproductive organs into his primary care internal medicine practice.
Dr. Palak Patel
Palak Patel, MD is a Brookings native and board-certified internist. He earned his medical degree from Oregon Health and Sciences University in Portland. While attending OHSU, they selected him to join the Rural Scholars Program, a specialty program for doctors who plan to practice medicine in rural Oregon.
Dr. Patel’s education continued at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, where he received training in internal medicine. He completed his geriatric medicine fellowship from one of the top geriatric programs in the country at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
As a patient advocate, Dr. Patel fights for improvements in rural health care, particularly for elderly patients. Besides serving patients at his practice, he visits local assisted living communities and nursing homes to provide care.
